Cheers mate! All those beers look awesome. I don’t think we have all that variety of Guinness products here in the states.

T he US distributor was taste testing that Pilsner at our local chain “Total Booze & More!” several months ago - wasn’t terrible but certainly not interesting. Cool they do a Milk Stout - not sure if we get that over here. Though we do have some solid Milk Stouts especially in the south east.

The milk Stout is okay but quite a way down on the list of Guinness products, only above the Pilsner, Rye Pale Ale and West Indies Porter.

interesting - what is the West Indies Porter like?  (roasty toasty or more sweeter?)

Incredibly sweet and chocolatey. It’s like someone took a bit of chocolate and dropped it into a pint of Guinness.

Definitely not something I’d ask for if I had better options on tap or in the fridge.

Mmmmmmmm.

I’ve gathered the necessary stuff for a full english breakfast on saturday (slightly modified - lightly roasted bell peppers and onion instead of a cherry tomato) and I was debating between a breakfast serving of bourbon or a beer......I still don’t know which one I want but man, saturday breakfast will be EPIC.

Cherry tomatoes I find too tart but Tomkin tomatoes are the same size, less tart, less juicy and have more flesh. Great for keeping on the vine with a drizzle of oil and a pinch of salt then placed in the oven for ten minutes.

The regular tomato is the traditional tomato for a breakfast. If you keep your tomatoes in a fridge, take some out the night before so they can come to room temperature. Cut the tomatoes in half vertically and remove the green and hard white bits. Now sprinkle plenty of brown sugar over the cut open face of the tomatoes to cover. Add a teaspoon of oil to a flat bottom pan, then once hot, turn down to a medium heat/flame and add the tomatoes face down into the pan moving them initially in a small circle. Then leave for two to three minutes, only turning over if you see one start to smoke rather than just sizzle.

An onion sounds good, a small one peeled and one end cut off leaving the root end on (but roots cut back), cut vertically six or eight times, gently opened up a little then seasoned with oil, salt and pepper then roasted in the oven for 20 minutes to half an hour at about 200C.

Nice.

Enjoy my friend.

This is about half, Europe has another two or three we don’t get in the U.K. and America has another six we don’t get in the U.K.

On the most part they are enjoyable such as the Original and the Dublin Porter, while the Hop House 13 is a nice relaxing change and the Golden Ale is so refreshing.

Lol. No. While I love Guinness.

The Rye Ale, West Indies Porter and especially the Pilsner, are awful.

Not a drink a Guinness drinker would drink really, more what a wheat ale and pilsner drinker would drink.

I’ve seen that one on the Internet but never had it.

What's it like?

The details are a bit vague to me at this point, but it was lighter in taste than the traditional draught.
